Vernal Equinox

~~~
Every year in March on the twentieth day,
Comes something that makes winters blues go away.
It's really a pretty remarkable thing,
That causes this to be the first day of spring.
When the daytime and nighttime are of equal length,
Nature responds at first, not with great strength,
But slowly and surely by some instinct internal,
On this special day of the equinox vernal.
The seeds that were buried there under the earth,
Feel the warmth of the sun and begin a rebirth.
Nobody tells them but somehow they know,
That it's time once again to begin them to grow.
And before very long there will be april showers
And then come the bowers and bowers of flowers.
And it makes us feel happier inside and out,
Hope springs eternal without any doubt.
So on this sunday morning I just want to say,
It's starting to happen, today is the day!
RiverDogs Team
~~~
My grandson, Nick, plays on a boys baseball team "the RiverDogs" in Charleston, SC.  Coaches for their team include, Marvin Goldklang and Bill Murray (yes! thee Bill Murray!)  co owners of the professional minor league team also based in Charleston, namesake the RiverDogs!

The kids are great little players and with Bill Murray the director of FUN...how can you go wrong!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

.

Mom you are a shining star though the world doesn’t know your name.

You have no fancy title like Baroness or Dame.

Mom you really are a star, my mother mentor and friend.

A Nobel Prize for motherhood is what I’d recommend.

And if I won the lottery I’d share my win with you

I’d take you Mom on a spending spree each day the whole year through!

You may not be famous, as your face is known to few.

But Mom I think you are wonderful and I’m so proud of you!

Love,

Robert

P.S.  This was sent to me on Facebook today at 9 a.m. by my youngest son, Robert, followed by a phone call to say I had a surprise on my page and a wish to have a great day!  Thanks so much for the awesome poem!  I love it and you definitely made my day!  xoxo

A TEXTED Mssg for MOM

.

At 5:30 this morning, while I was still sleeping in dreamland, my daughter, Deborah, sent this text message from South Carolina to her mama!

"Happy Mother's Day!!"

"Enjoying a run on the beach.
Steve suggested the Lost Dog for breakfast
but instead, I opted for bagels & salmon on
the front porch!!
Forget the crowds!!"

This was followed by a phone call this afternoon to see if I was having a wonderful Mother's Day....which we'll be celebrating as soon as I get to SC on Tuesday!  I'm so glad I'm a mother and that Deb is a mother, too!  Two of my grandchildren, Nick and Girlie, who along with hubby, Steve, had fun celebrating with her today.
